KVK Ri Bhoi under ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam organized farmers training on “Bio-fertilizer, Neemcake, Rock Phosphate and Lime Application in Maize Crop” and two demonstrations on “Soil sample collection, Azolla use, bio-fertiliser application” on 5th June 2026 as a part of national flagship programme "Khet Bachao Abhiyan" (Save the Farm Campaign) from 1-30th June 2026 emphasized on “Campaign Theme: “Healthy Soil – Healthy Crop – Prosperous Farmer”, with 30 participants including 2 male and 28 female from Mawbri village of Bhoirymbong block in Ri Bhoi district. Critical inputs like Neem Cake, Rock Phosphate and Lime were also distributed to farmers for demonstrations. The team was led by Dr. Popiha Bordoloi, SMS (Soil Science) and Mr. Bankitkupar Mukhim, SMS (Fishery) along with district official Smti. Jolyne M. Mawthoh, ADO (HQ.), Nongpoh along with community leader Smti. Plenty Makri, Vice-President, Meghalaya Kisan Morcha.
